CAMPUS MEDIA KIT

Get Geared Up!

America's Greenest Campus is the first nationwide green initiative to fully engage college students across America! Using social networking, education and customized energy reduction recommendations, America's Greenest Campus makes saving energy fun, easy and very competitive!

This Campus Media Kit contains a fact sheet, press release about the competition on your school's campus, and engaging social networking tools to help each college promote America's Greenest Campus to students and increase its chances to win!

What is America's Greenest Campus?

America's Greenest Campus (AGC) is the first nationwide contest among colleges to reduce the carbon footprints of their students, faculty, alumni and staff. Using advanced carbon tracking and reduction software from Climate Culture, America's Greenest Campus tracks the participation and carbon reductions from campuses across the country.

How Do I Get Involved?

Do you have an .edu email address? Then you can register to help reduce your school's collective carbon footprint! By signing up at AmericasGreenestCampus.com, you can start helping your school reach the top of the LeaderBoard, the list of participating colleges, and beat the competition in gaining the most members and highest carbon reduction per participant. The contest ends on October 5th, so sign up now at http://americasgreenestcampus.com

On-Campus Organization

Each college has appointed an official campus organizer, a student responsible for managing campus involvement and promoting reduction activities among participants. Campus organizers are encouraged to engage their communities through a number of tactics, including booths and events on campus, email campaigns, Facebook and MySpace notices. If you're interested in becoming your school's campus organizer, contact Adam at or visit http://americasgreenestcampus.com for more information.

Sign Up Your Campus

Campus organizers will be in charge of promoting participation in America's Greenest Campus. The first step is to create a campus network on the Climate Culture Web site, which is similar to social networks like Facebook. Each participating school has a network on Climate Culture so that students, faculty members and alumni can communicate energy efficiency ideas, measure their individual performance against peers, and encourage each other to make additional energy reduction commitments.

Social Media Tools

One of the many ways to stay updated on the latest contest updates and promote AGC on your campus is through social media. AGC has a presence in many places, so as often as you can link, message, re-tweet and email AGC messages, the more people will join to help your campus win!
